GI has primary investment and asset management responsibility for Aflacs general account consisting of public, private, and growth assets (including strategic partnerships) which generates approximately $3.5 billion a year in net investment income. As of year-end 2024, Aflacs total general account portfolio was approximately $100 billion./ppThe investment teams support GIs overall goals and objectives by providing market insight and in-depth knowledge of assigned asset classes. GI oversees the strategic deployment of capital for life and supplemental health insurance company balance sheets utilizing both internal teams and external third party asset managers./ph3Program Overview/h3pThe Summer Internship is an intensive 10-week internship program with Global Investments. This internship provides exposure to the portfolio management and reporting functions within Aflacs Global Investments organization. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting financial analysis, investment reporting, and data automation efforts that inform internal investment committees and senior stakeholders. Working alongside experienced investment professionals, the intern will learn how portfolio data is consolidated, analyzed, and communicated across asset classes in a highly regulated corporate investment environment, while developing strong analytical, technical, and business process skills./ph3Job Functional Responsibilities Include:/h3ulliSupport portfolio reporting and financial analysis by assisting with the preparation, consolidation, and validation of investment data across asset classes, with a focus on fixed income./liliAssist in the development and enhancement of automated reporting processes, helping streamline recurring reports used for internal investment reviews and committees./liliPrepare and organize materials, metrics, and supporting data for internal investment committee presentations, including asset class activity, purchases, and sales./liliPartner with team members to help maintain data accuracy, improve reporting workflows, and document business processes related to portfolio analytics./li/ulh3Additional Qualifications Include:/h3ulliInterest in asset management, investments, or financial analysis./liliProficiency in Excel; familiarity with data and reporting tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or similar platforms is a plus./liliExposure to SQL and/or Python for data analysis or automation is preferred but not required./liliStrong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work with large datasets./liliAll candidates must have eligibility to work permanently in the U.S. and must be physically located in the continental U.S. for the duration of internship. Working time zone is Eastern Standard Time in New York City./li/ulpThe range on these positions is: $31.25/hr. and is a non-exempt position. The position requires the individual to work 40 hours per week for ~10 weeks based on the companys hybrid work schedule noted above. A housing stipend will be provided for non-local candidates./ppThis compensation range is specific to the job level and considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
