BAE Systems is seeking an Accuracy Control Senior Engineer to analyze 3-Dimensional data for the purpose of achieving critical tolerances and stringent manufacturing requirements. The AC Sr. Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring precision and accuracy in the shipbuilding process. Develop and implement accuracy control standards into the current shipyard processes, with an emphasis on accomplishing first time quality in each build sequence. Upon the completion of analysis, prepare and distribute data sheets indicating the product's dimensional acceptability. Interface with members of management, trades, and various teams to ensure the analysis results are concise and the construction path forward is clear.
Responsibilities
\n - Read and interpret drawings, plans, and construction tolerance blocks
\n - Create design data files for analysis for each phase of construction
\n - Become proficient in the use of the program Spatial Analysis
\n - Develop and implement Accuracy Control procedures
\n - Establish ships reference lines and planes by design for layout
\n - Calculate and record critical dimensions from raw collected data to provide profiles and locations of components
\n - Provide guidance based on analysis for alignment of modular ship construction
\n - Support off shift work as needed (weather factors, thermal expansion)
\n - Interface with members of management and trade employees to solve complex alignment issues

Required Education, Experience, & Skills \n - Bachelor's degree of Engineering
\n - Metrology knowledge and industry standards
\n - Profound understanding of quality and accuracy control
\n - Strong background in construction, fabrication, and alignment
\n - Read and interpret drawings, plans, tolerances, and construction diagrams
\n - Ability to effectively communicate with management and employees at all levels
\n - Robust knowledge of coordinate systems
\n - Understanding of accuracy control principals and dimensional packages
\n - Comprehend construction tolerance block and how requirements apply
\n - Analyze and produce data sheets from collected 3-D data
\n - Create design files from drawings for future analysis based on tolerances
\n

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills \n - 4+ years of engineering contributions
\n - Background in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing environments
\n - Involvement with Spatial Analyzer, CAMM2, PolyWorks software
\n

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
