Engineering Technician

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician with prior sUAS assembly and small component assembly experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of subsystems in an sUAS and the ability to troubleshoot effectively. A working knowledge of part numbering, BOM structures, and their integration into a product is essential, as is prior experience with schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble small components and utilize hand tools with precision.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic subsystems in sUAS.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and repair.
• Support production and RMA schedules through effective time management.
• Conduct critical inspections to review incoming products and determine field failures.
• Assist with Root Cause and Correction Analysis (RCCA) alongside team members.
• Recognize trends in failures and components to report back to the QA department.
• Apply consistent methods and processes meticulously in all tasks.

Essential Skills:

• Experience with mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints.
• Strong skills in mechanical inclination and the use of hand tools.
• Ability to utilize soldering skills, though not regularly part of job duties.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes and prototype development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in a technical field preferred.
• Prior experience in a mechanically inclined role.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to assist in Root Cause and Correction Analysis.
• Strong communication skills to ensure professional interactions.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes a schedule from 6:55 am to 3:30 pm, with some overtime required on Saturdays. The role is based in a startup environment focused on research and development, actively partnering with military organizations for UAS capabilities. The company is growing in the Huntsville area, providing an exciting opportunity for career growth in the field of unmanned aerial systems.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Huntsville, AL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
