Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $125,000.00 Annually
Maximum $140,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

The position plays a critical role in the training of veterinary students by contributing to Foundational Sciences education, including lectures, laboratories, problem-based learning facilitation, and discussions on veterinary issues. The role also involves pursuing scholarly endeavors, such as developing a self-sustaining research program, mentoring veterinary students, and participating in post- DVM training initiatives. Additionally, the position requires active participation in college and university committees, as well as representing the institution to external agencies and funding bodies. If applicable, maintaining a California veterinary license and any relevant specialty certifications is also expected.

  • Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.
  • Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • An advanced degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (ie, DVM , VMD ), PhD, or equivalent degree) in the discipline of expertise is required.

Licensure (if applicable):

  • Actively licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Veterinarian in the state of California preferred. Current Veterinary specialty board certification preferred.
