We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Box Office Manager to lead our ticketing operations for both year-round events and the Annual State Fair. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient onsite and online ticketing processes, managing key revenue areas, and delivering exceptional service to guests, promoters, and partners. SUMMARY

This role is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient onsite and online ticketing processes, managing key revenue areas, and delivering exceptional service to guests, promoters, and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES NON-FAIR EVENTS:

  1. Drive operational excellence for all Box Office onsite functions that include sales for entry tickets and parking.
  2. Setup and management of online Box Office functions that include sales for entry tickets, parking and electrical hookups.
  3. Manage the inventory of Parking Permits for proper operation of our parking programs.
  4. Manage the operation of gate admission system, including the programming, coordination and inputting of information into the gate system for events.  
  5. Manage and organize records retention.
  6. Grow vendor & promoter relationships through exceptional customer service for year-round events.
  7. Manage the scheduling of staff such as ticket sellers, ticket takers, and parking sellers for Non-fair events. Prepare time sheets and payroll approvals for submission to payroll.  
  8. Support and continually enhance the learning and growth of the team and ensure high performance and company success by having the right people with the right skills in the right places.
  9. Support and manage the overnight parking program for the Florida RV Supershow in January.

FAIR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain management of the Credentials Department before and during the Annual State Fair.
  2. Support the scheduling of all gate entry (scanning) personnel.
  3. Coordinate with the Marketing Department with regards to mail in ticket orders.
  4. Ensure accurate processing and reporting for the on-site advance-ticketing program.
  5. Oversee the sales of parking related to the fair.  
  6. Manage the parking and hang tag permits for all entries into the inner grounds during the Fair.
  7. Other various duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Minimum of four to six years of experience in box office, bank teller, campground or related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Above average time management and customer service skills
  • Experience with a cloud-based ticket selling platform if preferred. The Fair Authority currently uses Saffire.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to work in various software systems
  • Experience handling cash, credit card processing 
  • Prior experience using a major commercial accounting system is preferred.
  • Strong experience knowledge in managing a staff and leading teams
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work on call as needed, weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Environmental conditions include daily exposure of outdoor weather conditions. Operates computer and standard office equipment, such as telephone and copier/printer. Must have ability to stand, sit, hear, use hands, walk, talk and reach with hands and arms. Occasional need to stoop, kneel, crawl and crouch, climb or balance, and lift or move more than 20 pounds.
