JOB SUMMARY: Performs the duties required for the timely and safe delivery of meals and

supplies to congregate meal programs.

Mon-Friday: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $19.00/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Loads and delivers meals to sites in an assigned geographic area dally in a timely and

safe manner. All perishable food must be maintained at 41&degree;F or lower at all times.

Packs coolers with adequate amounts of ice.

2. Provides regular contact with site managers during delivery and collect travel sheets.

3. Reports any site-related problems of emergency nature to the Lead Driver and the

Director of Food Services.

4. Operates vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.

5. Cleans inside of vehicle and takes vehicle to a self-serve car wash. Washes the outside

of truck as outlined in the Driver Handbook.

6. Cleans all coolers/Crestco Carts on a weekly basis as outlined in the Driver Handbook.

7. Reports any vehicle problems to the Facilities & Safety Manager or Lead Driver.

8. Checks all fluids, seat belts and tires daily before leaving base.

9. Fills out Mileage Sheet and returns to Lead Driver weekly.

10. Return all items and equipment to their proper storage areas.

11. Follows prescribed safety rules and procedures. Assists department in its goal to

provide a safe work environment by communicating problems and suggestions for safe

operation to your supervisor.

12. Responsible for delivery and pick-up of site mail pouches.

13. Attends and participates in all mandatory in-services and meetings as required.

14. Follow additional guidelines and procedures as required by department and perform

other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have a current and acceptable DMV

driving record/printout; must be able to provide own transportation to/from the Central

Kitchen.

- Must be 21 years of age.

- Able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.

- Must be able to work independently and efficiently.

- Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment physical, including drug screen.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Constantly remains in a stationary position or traverses locations.

- Constantly operates equipment, computers, or tools.

- Frequently extends body, arms or hands as needed to perform essential duties and

responsibilities.

- Frequently goes in/out of freezers/refrigerators as needed to complete essential duties

and responsibilities.

- Frequently ascends/descends and positions self as needed to complete essential duties

and responsibilities.

- Constantly speaks, communicates, interprets or exchanges information accurately.

- Constantly distinguishes differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and

odors when preparing meals for program participants.

- Constantly perceives objects over moderate or long distances, with or without

accommodation.

- Constantly moves, transports, and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
