Insight Global's client, one of the world’s largest providers of facility services and solutions, is seeking a Senior Electrical Field Test Technician to join their team in Lanham, MD. This person will be responsible for traveling to client sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems – across the DMV .

Job Description:

• Performing commissioning/testing at data centers, commercial buildings, government buildings
• Driving directly from their home to the site everyday - Provided a company vehicle, gas card, a laptop, cell phone, company credit card, Home Depot credit card
• Shift time - 6am- 2pm. Up to 10 hour days sometimes.
• Shifts from 8-10 hours is overtime.
• Shifts over 10 hours is double time.
• Travel to customer sites for inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and start-up of electrical systems. Maintain, test, repair, and replace electrical equipment like switchgear, circuit breakers, and transformers
• Supervise and mentor Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians.
• Ensure consistent testing and track project completion.
• Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches and test cable installations.
• Calibrate and test relays, motor control centers, and generator controls.
• Commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
• Sample and interpret insulated fluids.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses, including arc-flash and shock analyses.
• Review and submit timecards, expenses, and project reports. Document test results and complete field reports.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the sales process as a technical expert.

Requirements:

• 5 YOE with electrical testing & knows NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies
• Skilled in testing digital relays (SEL 700G or comparable)
• Clean Driving Record
