Giordano Industrial Services (GIS) is looking for an experienced Field Engineer to assist in multiple large scale industrial and commercial construction applications. Current work scope includes civil/structural site improvements, mechanical process/automation field support, as well as renovations to commercial buildings and structures. GIS is looking to augment their experienced crew with a technical role that will be largely based on reading and interpreting project specifications and drawings, and providing technical assistance to the Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel to ensure quality and safety through all tasks and phases of the project life cycle. Previous experience with construction in commercial or industrial settings is required. 

Experience Required:   

1. Competent in reading drawings, specifications, and procedures to support field work in concrete construction, steel construction, masonry, plumbing/piping 
2. Hands on field experience in the construction industry required 
3. Competent with Microsoft Office, including word, excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
4. Proven understanding of engineering principles and mechanics 
5. Competent in performing elevation and layout surveys for simple structures, such as concrete slabs, footings, structural steel, etc. 
6. Experience using AutoCAD or similar is a plus 
7. Experience with estimating and creating BOM lists is a plus 
8. Experience in design is a plus 

Qualifications:  

1. Bachelors degree in Civil or Mechanical engineering, or construction management 
2. Passed FE exam a plus 
3. 3-5 years working in commercial, industrial, or municipal construction or installation projects with emphasis on technical support 

Compensation: Hourly, based on experience.
