The West York Area School District is seeking a Full-Time Health Room Nurse at our Wallace Elementary building for the 2025-2026 SY. This is a school-year-only position.
Job Summary: Perform clerical assistance in the health room office, including projecting a positive image for the district.
Qualifications: - Registered Nurse (RN) certification OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
- Experience in the medical field.
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following: - Assist the school nurse with any emergency.
- Render first aid to students and dispense medication, per instructions.
- Prepare physical and dental forms for parents' completion.
- Record information from health room logs to individual health records.
- Distribute follow-up letters of referrals that are outstanding.
- File correspondence and paperwork.
- Assist with the care, storage, inventory, and requisition of equipment and supplies.
- Prepare attractive and informational displays.
- Maintain and update the student health record files.
- Keep the health room orderly and attractive.
- Enter immunizations into Sapphire.
- Coordinate student physical examination times for instructional staff members, completing passes for students, as needed.
- Attend training as dictated by the supervisor.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Principal, Pupil Services Director, or designee.

- Utilize databases and other district software and technology proficiently, as designated by the supervisor.
- Must be able to work independently or in a team (as circumstances warrant), and be able to work with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with students, personnel at all levels, and members of the public.
- Follow written and verbal directions, provide direction, and motivate peers.
- Must be able to read/write/correspond clearly, concisely, and effectively at a post-secondary level; interpret and follow district policies, regulations, and work rules; and exercise good judgment.
- Must appropriately handle confidential information.
Work Environment: - Standard office/health room setting, including standard office and medical equipment.
Physical Demands: - Ability to walk, stand, and sit.
- Ability to bend, twist, and climb stairs.
- Ability to reach above and below the waist.
- Ability to use fingers to pick, feel, and grasp objects.
- Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion.
- Occasionally lift/push and/or move at least 20 pounds.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Schedule (times may vary): Compensation :
This position is part of the Support Agreement.
Wages will be based on experience, in accordance with the Support Agreement. Wages range from $17.38 - $25.50 per hour.
