Job Title: Material Flow Engineer

Location: Horicon, WI

Contract Duration: 36 Months

Expected hours: 24 Hours per Week

Schedule: Onsite – 1st shift

Pay Range: 37 $ Per hour

Material Flow Engineer at John Deere Horicon Works

Job Responsibilities

• Support strategic alignment of material flow processes and strategies within the factory.
• Lead and facilitate moderate-scope projects supporting material movement, storage, and presentation.
• Train stakeholders on material flow processes and tools.
• Drive continuous improvement in material handling and factory operations.
• Innovate material flow strategies across production lines to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production Planning on warehouse, transportation, and inter-factory logistics.
• Support 5S, visual factory, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Skills

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
• Strong problem-solving initiative and process orientation.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Background in Industrial Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with SAP and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Python, and related data tools.

Additional Responsibilities

• Apply Lean methodologies to part storage, conveyance, and presentation.
• Manage warehousing strategies for fixed and dynamic storage (bin assignment, PFEP, capacity).
• Lead CI projects related to containers, conveyance, part presentation, and handling.
• Support automation and robotics in material handling (robot missions, maintenance).
• Define materials presentation and replenishment strategies across the NAO region.
• Coordinate physical setup of material flow layout areas.
• Improve inventory accuracy and physical inventory processes.
• Streamline material delivery processes.
• Design, prototype, and implement material flow solutions.
• Integrate visual signals into kitting operations.
• Engineer dock-to-point-of-use handling processes (dock utilization, transport, returns).
• Optimize inbound and outbound logistics network models.
