Night float Anesthesiologist opening to practice with a collaborative team at UPMC Hamot, the regional referral hub in Erie, PA. The UPMC Hamot Medical Center is a regional tertiary-care medical facility, referral hub, and Level II trauma center based in Erie, PA. Here, the focus is on healing, health, high quality, and education. With over 400 beds, the hospital provides an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services for the community. UPMC Hamot has almost 4,000 employees, including over 650 members on the medical team. Case Assignments include ortho, neuro, general surgery, transplants, and OBGYN. Shifts are Mon-Sun, one week on and one week off. The OB coverage is in-house at the Women’s Hospital only on Saturday nights from 7p-7a. All other shifts are “beeper” call in the Main OR. Responsibilities include assisting in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department, medical management of patients under anesthesia, pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining/verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with patients, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring patient's physiological condition, and performing clinical interventions as needed. Requirements include M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMC and FLEX, completion of approved residency in anesthesia, and current physician license.
