Mechanic - Diesel & Heavy Equipment
Location: Forest River, ND
Pay: $28-$36/hour
Schedule: Full-time, M-F (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) with flexible hours; additional hours as needed

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a growing transportation and construction company to find an experienced Mechanic . This role is perfect for someone with diesel and heavy equipment expertise who wants to keep critical machinery running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks, construction equipment, and tractor-trailers, including brakes, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and alternators.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Operate hand and power tools, welding and soldering equipment, and diagnostic machinery.
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate maintenance needs with supervisors and operators.
• Order and maintain inventory of parts, fabricate replacement components as needed, and ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Travel as required (up to 50%) to support field operations.

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, welding, and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex machinery independently.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work a physically demanding role in varying environments.
