Pharmacy Technician

Location: Med Center - Houston, TX

Pay: $33/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, with alternating weekend rotation (Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM)

Experience Requirement: Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience required

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Delivery Pharmacy Technician to support hospital pharmacy operations with a primary focus on maintaining accurate medication inventory across multiple buildings. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain stock levels, prevent stockouts, and replenish Omnicells on nursing floors in various hospital buildings
• Rotate stock and remove soon-to-expire medications

• Restock OR anesthesia machines, including controlled substances

• Repack and compound medications weekly

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, repackaging, compounding, filling, and delivering medications for patients of all ages (0-adult)

• Follow aseptic technique and infection control protocols; complete annual recertification with a minimum score of 90%

• Accurately enter medication orders, patient data, and dosage details into the system

• Comply with all hospital and departmental pharmaceutical handling standards

Requirements:

• Minimum: 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience

  Required: RPHT-TX - Registered Pharmacy Technician (Texas State Board of Pharmacy) OR PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern (Texas State Board of Pharmacy)

• Preferred: CPHT - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

• Strong math, reading, and communication skills

• Ability to operate sterile product preparation equipment
