job summary:
Piping Designer hybrid remote contract position with an EPC client located in any of the following office locations: Kansas City, Cincinnati, Birmingham (AL), Mobile (AL), or Greenville (SC). You will be responsible for developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams, and other sketches as directed by engineering for large industrial plants or similar projects. This role requires excellent coordination skills to work with multiple engineering disciplines and vendors to deliver high-quality, accurate piping designs from conception to completion.

responsibilities:
- Develop the project design basis and standards for all piping and equipment design activities.
- Design, review, and check Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), and sketches.
- Coordinate all piping design work with various engineering disciplines, including CSA, E&I, Mechanical, and Process, and oversee design input from equipment vendors.
- Review rough sketches, engineering data, and project scope to identify and communicate any potential changes or conflicts.
Requirements: - Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school , or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in piping design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D, including the ability to create, modify, and reference drawings.
- Proven ability to review and check vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for accuracy and impact on process documentation
