Project Manager – High Voltage Substation Projects

Location: Albuquerque, NM (site-based)

Employment Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high-voltage substation design and EPC projects ranging from 12-kV to 500-kV. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of complex brownfield projects, drive client relationships, and lead multidisciplinary teams.

The Opportunity

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from concept through to completion, including planning, engineering, permitting, procurement, construction management, and close-out. This role is ideal for a proven project leader who is motivated by delivering challenging utility and renewable energy interconnection projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all phases of substation and switching station projects, from early development through to construction and handover
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and scope to achieve targeted profitability and performance
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders
• Oversee permitting, environmental compliance, safety management, and quality assurance across all project phases
• Provide strategic input to proposals, project planning, and resource allocation for new opportunities
• Coach and mentor Assistant Project Managers, engineers, and field staff to drive performance and career growth

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field)
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in high-voltage substation (physical and/or P&C) projects, with at least 3 years in a project management capacity
• Strong understanding of brownfield project execution, including constructability reviews, contractor management, and risk mitigation
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred; PMP certification a plus
• Ability to travel (approx. 15%) and maintain a valid driver’s license
