QUANTITATIVE ANALYST - Global Investment Firm

J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a QUANTITATIVE ANALYST at a prominent Global Investment Firm in NYC.

They’re seeking an exceptional Quantitative Analyst to apply mathematical techniques and write software to develop, analyze, and implement statistical models for their computerized financial trading strategies. Principal Responsibilities :

The team is tasked with building advanced quantitative and statistical methods to produce models and prescriptive data that result in optimal investment decisions.

Specific responsibilities range from leveraging financial data in an effort to increase profitability, decrease risk, and reduce transaction costs to conceiving new trading ideas, formulating them into systematic strategies, and critically evaluating their performance.

The ideal candidate would have a background and a deep passion for working as a quantitative analyst / researcher within the investment community. This role is ideal for someone passionate about quantitative research, financial engineering, and applying deep technical knowledge to real-world investment challenges.

  • Successful candidates will have impressive records of academic achievement and be the top students in their respective math, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, and other technical and quantitative programs.
  • Quantitative financial engineering experience (i.e. systematic trading strategies) and a high level of interest in global financial markets – candidates from both industry and academia with a broad range of quantitative investment and /or financial engineering experience
  • Candidates should be innovative and analytical thinkers with strong communication skills, and they should demonstrate proficiency with the numerical and statistical tools needed to develop robust signals from market data.
  • Ability to work in an open collaborative and highly charged investment environment.
  • Strong desire to contribute and build a business – not just solve novel problems.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of investment professionals to develop and implement highly quantitative investment strategies in support of a dynamically growing global investment platform

SALARY RANGE : The expected annual base salary for this position is $225,000 for applicants who have completed undergraduate or master’s degrees and $250,000 for applicants who have completed PhDs (or have comparable professional experience). Their compensation and benefits package includes substantial variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, a sign-on bonus, a relocation bonus, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program
