POSITION PURPOSE

The Retail Sales Leader will embrace Carters’ mission and values to foster an engaged, high-performing team that consistently achieves stellar results. In collaboration with the store management team, the Retail Sales Leader will drive store productivity. Key responsibilities include enhancing financial performance through exceptional store standards, implementing company strategies, and ensuring positive customer interactions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MOST IMPORTANT) People Communicates effectively and professionally with both management and team members. Quickly addresses employee concerns by collaborating with the Store Manager. Assists in the hiring process by reviewing candidates to fill open positions promptly. Provides ongoing feedback to team members to foster improvement. Recognizes and rewards outstanding performance to boost team morale. Takes feedback positively and acts on it appropriately. Collaborates with the Store Manager to address performance concerns. Performance Ensures the store meets the company standard for cleanliness and organization. Delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining high operational standards. Leads and manages an assigned Division of Responsibility (DOR) through careful planning and execution. Acts as the Leader on Duty, driving results and resolving customer issues effectively. Assists in adjusting staff schedules based on business needs to optimize sales. Conducts regular check-ins with the Store Manager to discuss business strengths and opportunities. Utilizes customer feedback to identify growth areas and implement action plans. Process Supports efficient execution of store processes and merchandise placement in line with brand guidelines. Promotes Asset Protection by providing excellent customer service and adhering to operational controls. Implements company directives timely, including visual merchandising, signage, markdowns, and promotional events. Builds customer loyalty through participation in company-sponsored programs. Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. Proven skills in customer engagement. Strong listening, written, and oral communication abilities. Able to multitask efficiently. Basic computer proficiency. Must be at least 18 years old.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand for long durations; climb ladders as necessary. Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Regular attendance is required to maintain active employment. Schedule changes must be approved by the Store Manager based on business needs. Shifts typically range from 3 to 8 hours long (subject to applicable state laws). NOTE: This job description is not exhaustive.
