The role emphasizes program development, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver high-quality results in mission-critical environments.

This position requires a combination of on-site leadership during project initiation and remote oversight as projects progress. The successful candidate will be self-directed, collaborate effectively across teams, and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resource allocation and material forecasting to align with project schedules.
  • Prepare progress and final commissioning reports.

Team and Client Coordination:

  • Mobilize project teams and coordinate staffing needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering long-term relationships.
  • Lead meetings and provide status updates on project risks and resolutions.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Oversee factory witness testing, on-site startup, and inspections.
  • Develop QA/QC plans, checklists, and test procedures to meet project guidelines.
  • Utilize technical equipment (e.g., power quality meters, infrared cameras) for diagnostics.

Risk Management and Adaptation:

  • Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Handover and Transition:

  • Train project teams for seamless transition of commissioning responsibilities.
  • Ensure successful project closeout and delivery.

Financial and Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring profitability.
  • Identify and address scope changes requiring additional fees or change orders.
  • Maintain and build client relationships to drive satisfaction and identify new opportunities.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide mentorship and direction to project teams.
  • Assist in developing organizational policies and procedures to enhance performance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field OR two years of hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or controls infrastructure in data centers.
  • At least eight years of additional experience with infrastructure testing, validation, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of construction, commissioning, and project management processes in mission-critical environments.
  • Expertise in MEP systems and testing protocols.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and other project management tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with clients and teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Travel and Physical Requirements

  • Travel: Up to 75% during initial project stages, reducing to 25-50%. Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent movement through various environments (e.g., confined spaces, temperature extremes). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to lead the commissioning of critical facilities, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
