Senior Investigator
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85007
1 Year Contract
Position Overview:
The Client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Investigator with expertise in public assistance eligibility policies and investigative procedures. This position is responsible for conducting administrative and criminal investigations into allegations of fraud, abuse, and misconduct related to Client's programs and services. Investigations may involve clients, employees, vendors, providers, and contractors. The role includes working collaboratively with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate allegations of public assistance fraud through fieldwork, interviews, surveillance, and evidence collection
- Review and analyze records, policies, procedures, and public information to gather evidence
- Maintain investigation records and ensure proper chain of custody for all evidence
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining investigative findings, including both incriminating and exonerating evidence
- Testify at administrative hearings and criminal proceedings as required
- Draft and submit prosecution reports and refer cases to the Attorney General or county prosecutors
- Attend team meetings, trainings, and provide support to colleagues as needed
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using investigative tools, data analysis software, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret complex policies and regulations related to public assistance programs
- Skilled in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field
- Experience in protective services or investigations (public sector preferred)
- Knowledge of public assistance programs (SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, etc.)
- Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish) are highly preferred
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card or proof of application
- Obtain ACJIS Terminal Operator Certification within 30 days of hire
- Successfully pass background checks and participate in E-Verify
- All work must be performed within the state of Arizona unless otherwise authorized
