About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President for Design and Construction in the Senior Living sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the design and construction process, from entitlements to day-to-day construction management. This includes pre-development, site due diligence, user group programming, design, construction, and budget/schedule reporting. The role involves producing project master schedules, ensuring compliance with design specification standards, and monitoring the work of 3rd party and on-site construction personnel to achieve successful project outcomes. The VP will also be involved in obtaining necessary permits, enforcing compliance with building codes, and managing the transition of projects to the facility's asset manager. Applicants for the VP position must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field, with a preference for those with 10+ years' experience in a senior project management role within real estate development or general contracting. The role requires a candidate who can multitask on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and is willing to travel. Essential skills include the ability to understand and manage contract documents, plans, and specifications, as well as the capacity to lead and participate in the creation of RFPs, bid analysis, and the negotiation of AIA documents. The VP will also be expected to manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure regular communication with internal and external stakeholders.
