Job Description

The Epoch Times's sister media, NTD DC Bureau, is seeking a skilled and experienced photojournalist to join our team and cover news events, both live and recorded, around Washington, DC, including Capitol Hill, the White House, and various other government agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with producers and reporters to capture high-quality video footage of events, interviews, and press conferences in Washington DC based on the needs and requirements of the newsroom.
  • Operate camera equipment to achieve optimal image and sound quality, and adjust equipment, lighting, and sound as needed.
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced news environment, ensuring that footage is delivered to the newsroom in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a camera operator in a news environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of camera equipment, including broadcast-quality cameras, lenses, tripods, and lighting equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of video production techniques and principles, including framing, composition, and lighting.
  • Familiarity with current events and politics.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to succeed under the pressure of a live television production environment, exhibit great attention to detail, and be a team player.
  • Video editing in Adobe Premier and/or Final Cut Pro is preferable, but not required.
  • Physical ability to lift and move camera equipment as needed

Pay Range : The annual pay range for this role is between $45,000 and $75,000. The quoted pay range represents our good-faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range according to the selected candidate's experience, technical skills, and other factors.
