divh2Medical Records Technician Coder V/h2pKoniag Advisory Business, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Medical Records Technician Coder V to support KAB and our government customer in Wolf Point, MT. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. We offer competitive compensation and a benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliPerform quantitative analysis of medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy/liliAssign CPT/HCPCS/CDT/DSM codes in accordance with AHIMA and AMA guidelines/liliEnsure proper Evaluation Management (EM) levels are applied/liliSequence diagnostic and procedural terminology accurately/liliEnsure compliance with official coding conventions and regulations/li/ululliScan medical documents into electronic patient records/liliProtect and maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)/liliProcess Release of Information (ROI) requests from patients and authorized entities/liliUpdate patient registration pages and verify third-party information/liliObtain Medicare secondary payer signatures as required/li/ululliAnswer incoming telephone calls and verify patient eligibility/liliMaintain accurate logs of work completed/liliCollaborate with Health Information Management (HIM) supervisors/liliEnsure continuous service coverage and communicate staffing needs/li/ulh3Required Qualifications/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/lili6+ years of previous experience in medical coding or health information management/liliCompletion of an accredited Health Information Management or Medical Coding program/liliCurrent certification in medical coding (CCS, CPC, or equivalent preferred)/liliKnowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and DSM coding systems/liliUnderstanding of AHIMA and AMA coding guidelines/liliProficiency in electronic health record systems/liliStrong attention to detail and analytical skills/li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliExperience working in Indian Health Service/liliKnowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements/liliFamiliarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance/li/ulh3Essential Skills/h3ulliExcellent written and verbal communication/liliStrong organizational and time management abilities/liliAbility to work independently and as part of a team/liliProfessional appearance and demeanor/liliComputer proficiency and technical aptitude/liliCommitment to patient confidentiality and healthcare ethics/li/ulh3Compliance Requirements/h3ulliSuccessfully complete background check process/liliAbility to obtain a Public Trust/liliMaintain HIPAA compliance at all times/liliAdhere to professional dress code and appearance standards/liliFollow all facility security protocols/liliComplete required training and competency assessments/liliMaintain current certifications and continuing education requirements/li/ulh3Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy/h3pThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
