This role is part of the Product, Design, and Marketing team for services including media products, creator tools, cloud and commerce services, and productivity apps. We’re searching for a UX Writer to support the design of new and better experiences in our services through the lens of language.

  • Has designed for every part of the user journey
  • \n
  • Ability to write from scratch, edit existing copy, and think beyond the written word, while integrating input from many different team members
  • \n
  • Comfort developing nuanced solutions and working within existing patterns
  • \n
  • Can quickly reduce complex systems into coherent, compelling interface copy
  • \n
  • Experience working with design, product, engineering, marketing, localization and others to develop well-informed points of view
  • \n
  • Ability to achieve business and growth needs without sacrificing excellence
  • \n
  • Working with designs in Figma/Sketch and creating functional specs
  • \n
  • Can prioritize multiple projects at once
  • \n

Relevant Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Writing for UI and creating user experiences for apps: Onboarding, feature development, feature management & settings, feature education
  • \n
\n

As a UX writer, you’ll be responsible for:

\n
    \n
  • Building relationships with the product and with the product makers
  • \n
  • Writing within constraints to bring about the best possible results
  • \n
  • Collaborating with design to develop a messaging strategy and execute on designs
  • \n
  • Partnering with stakeholders on feature development, naming, and education
  • \n
  • Working with engineers to map out errors and edge cases
  • \n
  • Working with the producer & writing manager to prioritize projects
  • \n
  • Working with other writers to ensure copy proposals are consistent across services
  • \n
  • Spending time with QA, legal, and localization teams to ensure your writing appears properly for every audience
  • \n
\n

Education & Experience:

\n
    \n
  • 8+ years in user experience design or writing
  • \n
  • BFA, BA, MA, MS, or MFA
  • \n
\n

Bonus:

  • Writing for entertainment services like music, podcasts, or media/social media apps
  • \n
  • Experience with subscriptions, plans, or other service based apps
  • \n
